Cindy Cronin is a Horse Trainer and Riding Instructor from Portland, Oregon with 30 years experience. She has an extensive background in driving, hunter jumpers, and dressage. Cindy specializing in starting young horses, driving, and problem solving.
Cindy was raised in Portland, Oregon and attended the University of San Diego. She has a BA degree in Animal Anatomy and Illustration. Cindy has always loved horses and started to ride when she was 6 years old. She has trained and competed in a variety of disciplines, from hunter jumpers to combined driving, to western pleasure, on both the East and West Coasts. She believes dressage is the base to all disciplines. She also believes in finding the right disciplines for the horses and riders she works with. With the right match, horse and rider become one. Riding should be a fun and pleasant experience between man and horse.
Using gentle methods, Cindy believes once you achieve trust with your horse, they become willing to do any thing you ask. She makes it easy for both horse and rider to learn. By observing movement, mood, and tension you can tell when they are ready to work. Cindy will give you the tools you need to build confidence in your horse which will only strengthen your riding experience. Whether you have a young horse to start, or an experienced horse that needs a tune up, and you want to expand the abilities of yourself and your horse. She will work with you and your horse to provide you the insight and tools you need to be "one with your horse."

I came to Oregon for the holidays and my cousin, Celeste, told me about Ghost Rock Ranch. She rides horses here and I came with her. I have been surprised by the kindness of all the people that I have met, especially the welcome of Cherie and Cindy. The horses are all friendly and it’s a pleasure to learn to ride horses. Cindy is a very good teacher. I enjoyed learning western riding (for the first time). I’m can hardly wait to come back.

"My horse and I were having trouble getting beyond a certain point in our journey together, we would do very well up to actually riding, and then she would take charge. This would occur in the form of pinned ears, biting and finally bucking. Cindy helped me to regain my power and my confidence! She helped me to overcome my fears by showing me how to handle the situation. In a matter of days I saw improvement in Stars behavior, and ultimately in mine. We are privilaged to have a trainer the caliber of Cindy in our area!"
